Developments: Few changes in adult education in Belarus
In 2019 there were no major changes to the adult education sector in Belarus. According to EAEA’s member, International public association (IPA), adult education has not seen any new innovations or policy changes and the funding has stayed the same. Civil society continues to be consulted rarely in policy making. As Belarus is not a member of the European Union, the European Semester is not applicable. The European Pillar of Social Rights and Upskilling Pathways have not been implemented in Belarus. IPA is not yet involved in the CONFINTEA process, but seeks to get involved.
In Belarus’ ambition for sustainable development, the country continues to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based initiatives. The project “SDG: Think and Act” was launched in 2019 as an online tool to promote sustainability in the country.
